Thanksgiving is about giving thanks for all your blessings and spending time with the people you love. And being from the South, we have to be thankful for all the great Southern comfort food.

Do you ever just stop to think about all the things you are truly thankful for? Most holidays are spent just planning dinner, getting the house cleaned and making a guest list. It seems like this year has flown by so before all the holiday madness begins, take time to sit down and reflect on all the things that you are grateful for.

Make a Thankful Journal

  1. Get a journal and make it your thankful journal or thankful journey. No matter what you call it, find a place to write down your thankful thoughts.
  2. Start by making a list of all the things you’re thankful for this year and why you are thankful for them. Make sure you date it so that you know exactly when to come back the following year to reflect on it.
  3. Throughout the year keep writing your thankful thoughts. No matter how big or small, write down what you are thankful for and why.
  4. When you are not in your highest vibration (mood), go to this list and read over all the things you have listed. Reading this will put you in a state of appreciation and bring your vibration up.
  5. Every year around the holidays, go back to the list. Reflect on what you were thankful for at this time last year. Let it sink in on how far you have come and make a new entry so that you can revisit it the following year. It will fill your heart to see how much your list has grown over time and how more appreciative you will be while dealing with the hustle and bustle of the holidays.

15 Things I am thankful for:

  • Every new day – I am thankful for every new day God has given me and the renewal of my spirit each day to keep me moving forward.
  • Family – I am thankful that my family is safe, happy and healthy. From giving love, support and understanding, I am so grateful for them being part of my life. They are my biggest blessing.
  • Friends – I have some of the greatest, funniest and most supportive friends on the planet. God has truly blessed me by putting the right people in my life.
  • Co-workers – My second family. We fuss and argue just like a normal family but in the end we all come together as one united team. It’s my home away from home. As dynamic and unique as they are, I am thankful for them.
  • My followers – No matter what social media channel that I am followed on, I am thankful that my followers are experiencing this journey with me. The support and encouragement I receive is unbelievable. Starting from 0 followers to now having followers on my Facebook page, Twitter, Instagram, Pinterest and Google+, how could I not be thankful?
  • Finding a free blogging class – I will always be thankful for this class. Without this class, I probably wouldn’t had ever got started on this journey. It gave me the simple steps to get started and being part of this group still gives me the encouragement I needed to keep going.
  • Courage – This year I have gotten up the courage to start a blog, get my teeth straightened (using the invisible aligners) and actually start doing the Angel Oracle Card Readings on YouTube. (I have a fear of public speaking so that was a big step for me) The courage to have a voice and making my dreams become a reality is a lot to be thankful for.

  • Setting Goals – I have never set goals in my life (I don’t know how I made it this far lol) but once I bought the Law of Attraction planner, I am all about making goals. Now I make personal goals, short term goals, long term goals, travel goals and social media goals.
  • Time – I am thankful for the time I have had this year to spend with my family, traveling, seeing my grandkids and writing. I plan on having even more time next year to do the things that I enjoy.
  • Letting go – Just like Elsa in the movie Frozen, I have learned to let it go. This year I have let go of things that I would harbor up inside before until I would explode or I would just let it put me into a depression. It don’t mean that I don’t care about anything anymore, it just means that I don’t let it dwell within me and keep me in a negative vibration. Now I just let it go and put my energy towards positive things.

  • Inspiration – As I stay in a positive vibration, God gives me all kinds of inspiration for stories to write, places to go and things to work on. Every time I get a new idea or inspiration, I always give thanks to God.
  • Opportunities – I am so thankful for the opportunities that I have been given this year so far. I have been given products to test out like a toothbrush or book to read. I have had several agencies contact me about doing reviews or giving me information to share on my social media. I know I have a long way to go but there is so much more to come and I am only going to get better at it. I am so grateful that God puts me in the right place, at the right time and with the right people so that I can continue on this path.
  • Love – I am thankful for the love that has been shown to me and the love I have been able to give to others. Whether it’s in the form of advice, a listening ear or just giving someone a hug, love is what it’s all about.
  • Understanding – Being thankful for understanding may sound a little crazy but when you understand that every thing happens for a reason, it’s something to be thankful for. It gives you a sense of inner peace and you don’t react so harshly to unfavorable conditions or situations.
  • Abundance – God has always provided me with every thing I have needed. God has brought me abundance with the growth of my family, my friends, financially, spiritually and even materialistically when that’s definitely not what it’s all about.

Now that you have read the things I am grateful for this year, it’s time for you to get started on your thankful journal. If you feel like sharing, tell me one thing that you are thankful for and why in the comment section below.
