Sometimes her writing is hard to read or the language doesn’t make sense but I still manage to interpret most of my momma’s recipes. Though I miss her so much, sharing her recipes is my way of honoring her and her love for cooking. Here is another great recipe straight from my momma’s cookbook.

Chocolate Pecan Pie

Chocolate Pecan Pie

  • 1 1/2 cups – sugar
  • 1/2 stick – butter (melted)
  • 2 – eggs
  • 3 1/2 Tbsp. – cocoa
  • 2/3 cup – evaporated milk
  • 1 tsp. – vanilla
  • Pinch of salt
  • 1 cup – chopped pecans
  • 1 – 9″ unbaked pie shell (crust)

Mix cocoa and sugar in bowl. Then mix in beaten eggs and milk until blended. Add vanilla, melted butter, salt and nuts to mixture. Once blended pour into the pie shell (crust). Bake 15 minutes at 350 then lower the temperature to 325 to bake for 45 minutes.
