1) Running rabbits – If somebody is running rabbits, it means they are telling tall tales or not telling the truth.

2) Like a bull in a china shop – This means somebody is very clumsy and is likely to break something.

3) Can’t hold water –  If there is somebody that tells every little thing to every body….they can’t hold water or keep it to themselves.

4) Their ears must be burning – That’s what Southerners say when they are talking a lot about another person and usually it’s not in a good way. 

5) Go get a hickory switch – Somebody’s in trouble when they have to go get a long thin branch from a tree or bush that is used for old school spankings.

6) There is more than one way to skin a cat – No this don’t mean we actually skin cats. This is another way of saying that there is more than one way to do something.

7) My eyeballs are floating – This means you have to go to the bathroom (number 1) like really, really bad.

8) That’s like the pot calling the kettle black – Basically this is somebody being a hypocrite. 

9) Getting too big for your britches – Usually this is said to children who are trying to talk back and/or is being disrespectful. By the way, britches are pants just in case you didn’t know.

10) This ain’t my first rodeo – This means it’s not the first time someone has been in the same situation.

11) Fixin’ to – Southerners say this when they are about to do something.

12) Sounds like God is moving furniture – When you hear thunder nearby, it sounds like God is moving furniture.
