If you are a true Walking Dead fan then this cookbook is a must have! This book is full of great survival tips and recipes.
Written by Lauren Wilson and photography by Yunhee Kim this is one of the most unique cookbooks that I own. With well over 100 pages stuffed full of survival tips and recipes, this cookbook is truly one of a kind.
What is one of the biggest keys to survival? Food.
Each chapter has it’s own introduction and each recipe has it’s own story that ties it back to the show.
The first chapter of the book starts out explaining basic food survival skills like scavenging, hunting, foraging and preserving food. In today’s society, no one really thinks about these skills or about passing them along to the next generation so the information is invaluable.
The next 5 chapters is full of great photos from the show and recipes to die for (lol).
Here is just a taste of what type of recipes that can be found in the book:
Breakfast: Dwight’s Egg Sandwich, Morgan’s Peanut Butter Protein Bars & West Georgia Correctional Facility Oatmeal.
Hearty meals: Dixon Deer Stew, Tara’s Turkey Chili & Negan’s Spaghetti all’Arrabbiata.
Sweet treats: Carl’s Chocolate Pudding, Foraged Berry Cobbler & Carol’s Beet and Acorn Cookies.
Drinks: Alexandria Lemonade, Cherry Moonshine & Hershel’s Healing Elderberry Tea.
Preservation recipes: Aaron’s Acceptable Applesauce, Carriage Bar Pickled Eggs & Fruit and Veggie Leathers.
The information, photos and stories alone are worth buying it for even if you never try to make any of the recipes. (You never know when it will become a valuable collector’s item.)
