Author Rich Garon’s novel, Lee Fitts, is a heartwarming story about a town’s tragedy and how one person’s compassion and forgiveness helped heal himself and so many others.

Lee had so much potential as a kicker but one bad decision by a bus driver, changed his life and so many others. After years have passed by, and his mother gone and his sister married, Lee does his best to help his father but Mr. Fitts still doesn’t know how to cope with the fact that Lee will never be the same.

As Lee’s story unfolds, a woman sharing an important link to that morning commits herself to Lee’s recovery, and a night at a homeless shelter gives Lee the ability to forgive the villain who has haunted him all these years. And with the help of a pastor, who wrestles with problems of his own, Lee is afforded a chance at redemption for both his father and himself.

Themes found in Lee Fitts include:

  • The power that exuding goodness and compassion can have, even when facing tough circumstances.
  • The transformational power of forgiveness.
  • The rare commodity of honesty in politics and how being hones can in turn become its own salient commentary.
  • How the love of family and friends can become an incomparable source of strength.

The author did a great job making a connection with the reader to Lee’s character. You can’t help but have compassion for Lee and you want to see him succeed throughout the story. This is a perfect read for anyone wanting an inspiring and uplifting story.

All proceeds from this novel will go to the Bill Mehr Drop-In Center for the homeless in Rich Garon’s local community.
