If you are like me, you can only go so long before you need a change of environment which includes my living room. One of the most expensive things to change would be the furniture and because I know that I don’t have the money to go buy new furniture every time I want to change, I decided to looked for other ways to make affordable changes.

Trick #1: Furniture

New furniture may not be a choice that everyone has but I found that slipcovers can work just as well to give you the look that you desire! The slipcover used below came from https://www.theslipcovercompany.com/. Most slipcovers are reasonably priced at $100 or less (a lot cheaper than new furniture). The material is soft, well-made and they have a variety of colors and patterns to choose from. These definitely made a difference!

Trick #2: Curtains

Curtains are easy to change and very affordable. There are a huge variety of textures, designs and colors to match your living room as your living room changes. There are some for less than $40 on Amazon and it is a quick fix to scratch that itch for changes. Here are just a few great picks:

Trick #3: Lamp shades

Instead of buying new lamps for your end tables, try changing out your lamp shades. You can get some unique shades with different designs that can make an impact on how your living room looks. Here are a few examples of cute and affordable lamp shades:

Trick #4: Rugs

Rugs can be a little expensive depending on the size of the space you want the rug to cover. If you change or add a rug to your living room, you can add character especially through the colors and designs. Most furniture is one solid color but rugs can give your living room the extra pop you are looking for. Here are a few examples below:

There are plenty of other things that can be changed or added like nick-knacks, picture frames, plants and coffee/end tables but I think the four tricks listed above will have the most impact on how your living room looks in a matter of minutes without a heavy cost.
