***All In @ Clemson***

Waking up at 6:00 am on a Saturday is not fun especially when it’s one of the two days I get off a week.

November 3rd, 2018 my husband wakes me up at 6:00 am to tell me that he is taking me somewhere. I didn’t have any clue that he had been making plans for the day but I thought it was super sweet because it was a day of getting out of the house and doing something together as a couple.

With no clue what he had planned, I headed to the shower when he gave it away. He said “make sure you wear orange.” That was all I needed to know, we were going to a Clemson game. It had been a couple of years since we had been so I thought it was a great idea.

After he found some tickets for sell online, we left to go pick up our tickets and make our way into Clemson, South Carolina. We didn’t have a parking pass so we were going to have to find somewhere to park. Luckily as we were stopped waiting to get through the massive traffic in Clemson, a police officer recommended parking at the YMCA which was exactly what we did. It was great because they had shuttle buses that would take you out and back from near the stadium. We didn’t tailgate any because it was a noon game but we did go to the ESSO for some food and drinks before the game.

I recommend going to at least one college football game in your lifetime just for the experience. There is no way to describe the atmosphere of having all the fans gathered in one place. It’s an experience like no other.

With seats at the 50-yard line, it was the perfect setting to watch the band and the game.

The band is what sets the tone for Clemson fans. The music brings the anticipation of the arrival of the football team. I know all college teams have their own unique entrances but you don’t even have to be a Clemson tiger fan to appreciate the experience of Clemson’s traditions. The players wait together, at the top of the hill, for the cannon to blow just so that they can touch “Howard’s Rock” as they come running down.

We knew that Clemson would win this game beforehand but it was so nice actually being there and the weather was perfect. 

Being in the stadium you can see and hear cannons, fireworks, cheers, boos (bad referee calls), fans chanting and music playing. The atmosphere and experience is so amazing that it stimulates all the senses. When you gather over 80,000 people in one place, how could you not experience something amazing?  That experience is what makes Clemson fans “All In”.

It actually ended up being a blowout by the end of the game but we got to see a lot of great talent on the field. I think Dabo Swinney (the head coach) has a great football program and really tries to give each player a chance to be on the field. He has led the team to accomplish some great victories including the  2016 National Championship. Go Tigers!

After all was said and done, I thanked my husband for surprising me with such a great day.
