15 Live Zoo & Aquarium Cams

Bummed out about being stuck at home? Well what better therapy than animals? Since the zoos and aquariums are closed to the public right now, it’s time to bring the animals to you! These live cam links will show you what the animals are up to from sharks to penguins to orangutans. There are a few that have scheduled daily feedings that you can watch right from the comfort of your home.

Zoo Therapy

Lions, tigers and bears….oh my! Below are eight zoos that have live cams with a variety of animals and birds to watch.

1) San Diego Zoo – https://zoo.sandiegozoo.org/live-cams These cams only stream live from 7:30am – 7:30pm Pacific time (with a morning replay during the off hours) and include: baboons, penguins, polar bears, apes (with orangutans and siamangs), koalas, giraffes, elephants, tigers, burrowing owls and condors.

2) Smithsonian’s National Zoo & Conservation Biology Institute – https://nationalzoo.si.edu/webcams These cams include: cheetah cubs, naked mole-rats, lions, elephants and giant pandas.

3) Oakland Zoo – https://www.oaklandzoo.org/webcams These cams include: grizzly bears, elephants, sun bears, black bears and condors (when condors are being treated).

4) Houston Zoo – https://www.houstonzoo.org/explore/webcams/ These cams only stream from 7am – 7pm CST and include: giraffes, gorillas, elephants, leafcutter ants, rhinos, chimps and flamingos. Plus you can actually move the camera to different positions.

5) El Paso Zoo – http://www.elpasozoo.org/zoo-cameras These cams include: giraffes, meerkats, orangutans, sea lions and siamangs.

6) Chattanooga Zoo – http://www.chattzoo.org/explore/video-stream These cams include: meerkats, snow leopards, tamarins and spotted genets.

7) Indianapolis Zoo – https://www.indianapoliszoo.com/webcams/ These cams include: macaques, macaws, penguins, tigers and walrus.

Aquarium Therapy

Did somebody yell SHARK? Well that’s what you find in this section along with a variety of fish, sea animals and reef life.

10) Seattle Aquarium – https://www.seattleaquarium.org/live-cams These cams only stream from 9am – 6pm PST and include: harbor seals and sea otters.

11) Monterey Bay Aquarium – https://www.montereybayaquarium.org/animals/live-cams These cams streams different times and include: aviary (streams from 7am – 7pm PDT), coral reef (streams from 9:30am – 5pm PDT), jellyfish (streams from 7am – 6pm PDT), kelp forest (streams from 7am – 7pm PDT), Monterey Bay (streams 24hrs), open sea (streams from 7am – 7pm PDT with a narrated feeding at 11am PDT every weekday), penguins (streams from 7am – 6pm PDT), sea otters (streams from 7am – 7pm PDT with a narrated feeding at 1:30pm PDT every weekday) and sharks (streams from 7am – 7pm PDT).

13) Oregon Coast Aquarium – https://aquarium.org/live-cameras/ These cams include: seabirds (viewing not available during 7am – 10am), otters and sharks (viewing not available during 8pm – 8am).

14) Vancouver Aquarium – https://www.vanaqua.org/live-cams These cams include: Otters, jellyfish and penguins.

15) National Aquarium – https://www.aqua.org/Experience/live#pcr These cams include: Blacktip reef (with Blacktip reef sharks, reticulated whiptail rays and humphead wrasses), jellyfish and Pacific coral reef (includes percula clownfish, yellow tang and banggai cardinalfish).

You can also access live cams from New York Aquarium for Ocean Wonders: Sharks! (with sharks, sturgeon, and rays) and the giant Pacific octopus from the Spineless cam.
