Author Jeff Henrikson continues the epic story of Gods, nations and mortals with his third book in his A Prayer for Peace series, Do the Gods Give Us Hope?
Detailed in Henrikson’s first two books, readers follow the journey of two brothers and a thief in a saga that spans the continent of Tellus. The brothers are exiled from their home for crimes they didn’t commit. Their father, the King’s bodyguard and most trusted advisor, dies trying to protect the King and the First Heir. The King is assassinated and the First Heir is abducted so the brothers are exiled until the First Heir is returned to the throne. The brothers set out to prove their selves worthy of their father’s legacy but along the way they encounter the men who killed their father, bring an abusive lord to justice, destroy a fortress and answer the call of a dragon.

The story continues in the third book as the companions are still trying to save the First Heir and face an angel from the heavens, fight a vampire, get captured by the Guild, endure the scrutiny of the Sorcerers of Kentar, experience the true power of a dragon’s revenge, give the ring a final resting place and determine the fate of the wizard trapped within the gem. With war coming to Armena, will the Gods give them hope?
I do recommend starting with the first book so that you get the whole background of the story (trust me, it’s awesome). The author did an outstanding job with the story and there were plenty of evenings that I stayed up late just to find out what was going to happen next. From a dragon to Gods to elves to mortals, if you love fantasy, magic and fiction then this series is for you. Because telling someone about the story doesn’t do it justice and not everyone likes to read, I hope that one day this series is made into a movie.
Now I patiently wait to for the next book to come out so that we can find out what the fate of the nations of Tellus will be.
