Have you ever stayed in a room that unexplainable things happened? I know I haven’t until I stayed in room 862 at the Hyatt House in Charleston, SC. Now I’m not saying the room or the hotel is haunted by any means, I’m just saying there were some unexplainable things that would happen around 2:00 am every night.

The room was very nice as you can see from the video below:
Everything seemed normal until around 2:00 am every night and that’s when unusual and unexplainable events would take place.
The first thing that I experienced was a very loud tapping noise that seemed to be coming from the night stand on my side of the bed. It sounded so close to me that I was too scared to open my eyes to see what was making the noise. Instead, I reached out to push a little on the night stand to see if it stopped. It didn’t so I reached out again to push a lot harder this time so it actually rocked the night stand. It stopped so I turned over, said a prayer and went back to sleep.
The next event was while I while I was watching a movie. I heard a door slam that sounded like it was to another room down the hall and then the bed shook for no reason. I had no clue of why the bed would’ve shook and I told Steven that I know that door slamming didn’t shake the bed. He said he didn’t know what could’ve done it so I just brushed it off and went to sleep.
The last event happened while we were both watching a movie around the same time of night. This time it was kind of like a metal moving sound. The first thing I did was look over in the corner that the sound had come from and noticed the air vent so I told Steven I thought the air conditioner was about to go out but Steven said it was the same sound that comes from raising and lowering the shades. At first I didn’t believe it but he went over to demonstrate, sure enough it was the exact same sound.
Steven began to tell me that he had heard that tapping noise and the sound of the shades moving before which made me feel better because it wasn’t just me experiencing these unexplainable sounds. The way I figured is: as long as nothing was touching me and I felt safe, there was no need to change rooms. To me it just added to the experience of staying in a town that it is full of history. Would I stay in that room again? Sure because I’ve already stayed in it so I know what to expect plus the hotel has a great breakfast that is included.
You will have to experience room 862 for yourself to draw your own conclusions. If you have had a similar experience in a hotel, I would love to hear about it in the comment section below. Sign up on the home page to receive a weekly email from Ssouthernlifestyle and as always have a blessed day.
