A year that will go down in history and affected people worldwide. A chain reaction of events that sparked fear everywhere. 2020 began just like most years do but by March, it started on a long journey of uncharted territory around the world.

The spread of the COVID virus was the first falling domino that started a chain reaction of events in the US. In all my 46 years, I have never witnessed a global lockdown, shortage of so many necessities or mandated facial coverings until now. It was almost like watching one of those “end of the world” movies come to life.
The Unforgettable Worldwide Lockdown
Non-essential people were forced into lockdown and with that people began to panic. Who can forget the 2020 “toliet paper apocalypse“? Fear of shortages and the unknown, drove people to wipe out cleaning and food supplies along with other essential items. Non-essential businesses were under a mandated shutdown too so most purchases were made online. This hurt some of the local small businesses to the point that many have been forced to close their doors for good. So many people unexpectedly lost their jobs or was put on unemployment which brought about a lot of uncertainties for companies and workers.
Not only were people thrown into unfamiliar waters, the fear sparked unnecessary violence and chaos. There have been so many lives lost and people affected by at least one of the chain of reaction events that happened in 2020. To add fuel to the fire, it was an election year which put an even greater strain on a fear-driven, divided nation.
Now with all that said, 2020 wasn’t completely a flop.
There were some good things come from people being quarantined at home. It gave people a time to reflect and prioritize the things that really matter in life like quality family time. People had time to organize their home, do repairs and finish projects. From learning new skills to creating a home office, people found ways to adapt and overcome despite the circumstances. Even home cooking became popular again! We went back to living simple like the generations before us which was a big step back for a technology-driven nation but it showed as a nation that we could survive.
Now we are in 2021, which means it’s a new year that is full of new possibilities. People worldwide will continue to overcome the circumstances that was inherited from 2020 but we will enter this year with high hopes of resolution and prosperity. 2020 was a step back to get refocused so that we can take the lessons we’ve learned and move forward with confidence to make this year a better year. Welcome to 2021!

Wonderful job right here. I seriously enjoyed what you had to say. Keep going because you undoubtedly bring a new voice to this subject. Not many people would say what youve said and still make it interesting. Properly, at least Im interested. Cant wait to see far more of this from you.
